(Not strictly photography, but the gorgeous end-paper odalisque self?-portraits were what compelled me to buy it. Maybe I can get them scanned.)

A shady promise, first monograph by Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu, deals with the female identity and the imagery of coloured women.
