I’m giving a lecture & lots of new titles…

…by black photographers in the chronological list on the site. The total is now more than 300—woohoo!! Yes, that’s still an appallingly low number in the 160 years of photography’s existence but, believe me, I’m very excited when I learn of new titles. Check them out, and buy a black photographer’s book today!

I’m not on promo my game, but tomorrow in Ithaca, New York, at 5:00 p.m. I am presenting a paper on black photographers and publishing as part of the Visual Culture Colloquium at Cornell University. Despite the fact that it took me so long to publicize this I’m really looking forward to it!
